For those of you working full time right now, how are you coping?
It's been harder and harder for me to have the will to go to work (even though it's a good distraction) and it's so hard to prepare myself for birth (nursery, etc) with my terrible work life balance 🫠
Whats been helping you get by at work?

I can completely relate. Work is getting so complicated on so many levels: waking up, being tired, stress of dealing with deadlines, projects, co-workers. I feel super emotional and not motivated AT ALL. And I feel it drains all my energy... I try to write things down so that I don't forget and get some clarity. The ideal would be to delegate as much as possible but not always that's doable. I'm trying to focus on one thing at the time, using some relaxation music when I do mundane tasks and most of all, let go a lot more. I used to fight people a lot more, now I'm energy saving mode. If it's not ESSENTIAL, it goes. And I've always been a type A, overachiever... this baby is definitely changing me already!!!

Work has been SO hard for me. Back hurts, legs/feet are super swollen even with compression socks, the fatigue is next level. I work like 45-60 minutes from my house. The hard part is, my entire job could be remote, but my OB office won't write a note for "typical pregnancy symptoms." Just knowing I could be at home napping during my lunch break and stretching to relieve my pain makes the day to day so much harder. 😞

I work and go to college fulltime and it’s so exhausting. I’m currently 29 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I plan on working until I give birth. But I’m cutting my hours in October to 32 hours or less, with three days off. This will give me the time to finish homework and everything else before the baby is here, and give myself time to rest.

@Rosy I feel you. I want to go on fmla early but at the same time I really need to accrue as much pto as possible to use once baby comes.

I feel this. I have been trying my best to compartmentalize and shift my focus. For example, when I am at work, all I can do is focus on work and the task in front of me. When I am home, all I can do is focus on home and the task in front of me. One thing at a time. And giving myself lots of breaks to rest whenever possible.

that's my strategy too... otherwise we simply sink........ but that's so hard. "typical pregnancy symptoms" I don't know if I have to cry or laugh at this one... they should be the first to know that even a "typical" pregnancy is hard as fuck.

The hardest part for me recently has been the fact it’s getting uncomfortable to sit upright. My work has standing desks and exercise balls that I’ve swapped for my chair but there’s only so much relief. I was legitimately looking at my calendar today and counting the weeks I have left 😂
