Baby movement

I’m 29 weeks with my first baby, is it normal to only feel her movements sometimes? Everyone talks about counting kicks but it’s not like she’s kicking every hour. But she goes crazy at certain hrs with nonstop movement for an hr or more at times? My OB is practically useless when it comes to me asking questions 😭

YES. I had that same question for my OB! My baby boy is SUPER active in the morning and at night. She said I only have to do the kick counts like twice a day. They sleep A LOT so having quiet stretches is completely normal!

Mine definitely isn't constantly active. She has her bouts of activity and bouts of rest. My OB hasn't at all suggested kick counting at this point. I'm just asked if I feel her kicking, which I do.

Yes it’s normal, just like when they are born the babies have sleep and wake cycles. The best time to count kicks is when baby is active, it varies by doctor but generally they say at least 10 movements within 1-2 hours when baby is active. When you get to 10 you can stop counting.

Mines was like that a couple weeks ago. Just unusually quiet. Now im 30 weeks and he cant sit still, it become painful. Even since he switched head down hes been more active. Has baby switched yet? It tends to be less movement with lots of sleep time for them right before they do the 360 roll lol

I was told to only worry about kick counting once a day and to choose the time they’re most active. My method is to pick an hour when I can lie down on my side and drink some cold water and that usually does the trick to activate them. Usually this is about 9pm for me each day. Hope that helps!

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

Homebirth?

I am thinking I want a homebirth (second baby) for a few different reasons but my husband is very against it, he is worried about things going wrong and we are a 30 minute drive from the hospital. Has anyone been in a similar position and what did you end up doing? Any advice? 🙏

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
