For you: Slippers, lounge outfit or 2, outfit to go home in, nursing bras if youre breastfeeding, extra long phone charger, toiletries, chapstick, snacks, refillable water bottle. For baby: outfit to go home in, car seat, blanket, pacifier if you choose to use one right away. Optional: boppy, didn’t bring mine but could’ve used it. I think that’s all the necessities.

Tisssues, pads, a warm outfit/swaddle/onesie and beanie for baby to leave in. If you’re in a cold climate when you give birth have a car seat cover that zips and is padded. Baby slippers/socks/shoes. Lip balm, a drink for when you’re cleared to have some fluids by the hospital, a few baby blankets, swaddles, diaper wipes (even tho hospital will have wipes and diapers) …hmm that’s all I can think of rn it’s been 7 years lol

If I could only pack one thing (other than a long phone charger of course) it would be cozy grippy socks. I HATED the grippy socks the hospital gave me and I was so happy I packed better ones. The hospital ones kept twisting and falling off my feet the one day I did wear them.

Other than that I was happy I brought a soft blanket and a bag full of snacks for when I was recovering. I would say a boppy/breastfeeding pillow is essential if you plan on breastfeeding. A cute outfit and swaddle for your baby if you plan on using the photographer at the hospital. Some slippers, toiletries, and going home outfits for you and the baby. That’s really all you need. Everything else if provided by the hospital.

I’ve seen some people just straight up pack everything into a suitcase.

I’ll probably pack much less since I’m having a home birth, the bag is just in case there’s an emergency in labor

And bring an extra bag for the rest of the hospital goodies!

hands free pumping bra in case you need to pump in hospital. I was so exhausted and just trying to figure out breastfeeding I was so glad to be able to pump hands free. So far all my friends who have given birth this year have also had to pump in the hospital to help supply come in

Honestly you don’t need much. At least for me my hospital provided everything except clothing to go home in for myself and clothing for my baby to go home in, car seat and slippers. Also bring hair ties are a must. Probably also just bring a blanket for yourself and baby. But the hospital will provide pads, a hospital gown, diapers, wipes swaddle blankets, hat for baby, a perri bottle to clean your lady bits, towels, tissues, toothbrush and toothpaste, soap, shampoo (you may want to bring conditioner if you plan to shower), they also have bottles and formula available if you feel like baby is not getting enough or any milk. If you really want to be bare minimal than just bring the basics I mentioned and the hospital has the rest. You may need to ask for some of the things they don’t always provide them unless you ask.

My hospital didn’t provide wipes or pacifiers. So, I had to have someone bring me some. I had my baby at 35 weeks unexpectedly. So, I didn’t have a bag packed 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
