My baby is nearly 8 weeks and I am still struggling to let my fiancée fully looking after the little one. I try so badly to let him be but I can’t help all the time interrupting.
Example: the baby was crying so he decided to give him a bath as he is very good at it (so much better than me I would say), however as soon as he put the baby in the water he screamed even more as the water was too hot. This has never happened before but I literally jumped from the sofa and helped. He would have realised for sure but at the same time I just can’t step back!
We end up arguing all the time about this and we are both tired of it. We love each other so much and I wish I could do so much better. I’m scared to go out and let them be because our baby doesn’t take a dummy or bottles and he is brestfeed only, so at the moment seems impossible going out so I give them time.
Any of you has been in the same situation? Any advice? Thank you in advance!

I used to act very similar, especially in the beginning. Then I realised that if I continue like this my LO would be completely depended on me and that my I wouldn't be able to do or go anywhere. You can try be near th and give your advice when you think/they ask for it. Then slowly let them do their thing.. he has to learn eventually and he is allowed a few mistakes, as long as they are not harming the baby.

I used to do the exact same. Always popping my head through the door if my partner was changing baby boy and he was crying. I had to really force myself to let him get on with it, because otherwise baby will never be able to settle with my patner if i dont let him try. My boy is 4 months and its still a struggle when he is crying next door and i can stop it in 2 seconds. But i realised i need to let my partner parent his own way and figure it out himself as well, and its definitely getting better and easier. Good luck! It does take a lot of willpower

I’d just leave the house for half an hour or so a few times. If you’re there you’ll jump in, if you’re not there, your fiancé will find his own feet and when you see him managing you’ll trust him more.
