My 2 year old eats weird, she started a few weeks ago where all day all she wants to eat are fruits and veggies(yes I am as serious as a heart attack). She could be offered chicken nuggets or a little halor orange and banana and she would pass on the nuggets. When it comes to dinner time she wants a whole days worth of meals. Does anyone else's kid do this? My oldest never did and it's odd. Like I have no issues with her eating and I try to make that meal she will eat high protein so that she has something to keep her going but idk if this is normal.

I mean it's very normal š«£š¤£ā¤ļø but if you want to see if it would help... my best practice with parents who want us to help their kids eat meals is this:
7am cereal with milk, size of their fists or granola bar, maybe mini muffins, something that has oat or value, shit a smoothie! Those danimals!.. this is where it sounds insane but 110% works.
Until they are on 3 meals a day, they don't need snacks bro. I'mma lay it on the line lol. & this also means you cut juice. They get water after offering 6oz of whole milk & they only have milk with breakfast.. so they drink water when they first wake up. Then they drink water from breakfast to lunch.. with lunch they get 4-6 oz of milk but this is AFTER they've eaten lunch. I would portion their food, tiny bit smaller than their fists. You may even need to bird feed (small tiny amounts at a time so they'll eat š«”) but you keep the schedule the same! 11/11:30 lunch, nap 12-1/2pm is ideal. Wake? They'll definitely need a snack lol. So now they may have the fruit

Will they throw a tantrum? Oh f****** right they will. It'll be bad lol. But you just need to be firm "These are your options" always give 2 options for meals, dinner is not an option. Make them apart of it. Not hungry for lunch? Kindly take the food away & say "okay baby, I guess you're not hungry. Mamas going to eat lunch, it's almost nap time" you'll even lay them down for nap on an empty stomach & suddenly they'll eat lunch. But take the plate out of the equation was the best advice I got from my pedi. It made my own daughter go from trying to pick at snacks only to 3 meals daily within 2 days she stopped whining, sure we have plenty of moments. But we still take the plate away, put it away, take it back out & boom she's eating anything we make. I don't make her eat spicy or fish etc I understand that lol she does like fish! Loves crab, lobster, muscles, clams.. but it's all because I was active & knew all about this phase.

& probably the hardest part for anyone to understand.. they don't need milk after lunch. That's it. It will mess with their sleep, possible nightmares from curdling, & replace meals.

Actually my kids drink mostly water. I give her rice crispies in the morning with some milk but enough to soak up the cereal. After that we don't usually nap. Should she? Probably. But that's a battle I'm not fighting ngl.
