I am incredibly worried about toxoplasmosis all of a sudden.
Long story short I didn’t really know this was a concern before today. I don’t have cats myself but was moaning about a resident cat using my garden as a little tray and a fairly passing comment of ‘don’t touch their poo - it’s dangerous for pregnant women’ has now sent me into a complete and utter panic.
I’ve researched via tommys and NHS but wondering if anyone has any words of wisdom that can help?
I do garden, and most of the time wear gloves. It’s only recently I hadn’t because my hands had become incredibly sensitive and sore after using them. I regularly wash my hands and have never intentionally touched cat poo at all, but I’m mainly panicking that the gardening aspect has put me at risk.
Any kinda reassuring words would be greatly appreciated - I’m not sure if it’s my health anxiety that is just tipping me over the edge on this one xx

I think the concern is that if you have an open wound and touch cat excrements, it can give you toxoplasmosis. If you did happen to touch it and you had no open wounds and washed your hands before eating, there is little to no concern.
I’d wear gloves in the future and talk to your doctor if you still have concerns, but I’m guessing your chances of exposure was low.
