I made it to 6 months which I am so happy about as it has been exhausting alongside working, studying and caring for baby, however, I cant help but feel a little sad about ending. I am down to one 10 minute pump a day and I know that will soon be gone and it feels weird.
We have a freezer stash we will carry on working through but I still feel guilty that I should be going till he’s 1 but I know I am also 100% done!

You came so long and you have all the stash ready for the bub. You are already thinking about his future well. We need to care for ourselves as well to give them 100% of our time and energy. :) Happy motherhood further 💘
Between how are you bringing down your supply?

Me too! Stopped about 4 weeks ago for her to switch into hypoallergenic formula. I also have a freezer full that currently I can't bare to throw out but also can't give it to her

It’s taken about a month to get down - I started by dropping the night pumps which I just dropped and excepted I would leak and wake up really
Full. Then the day time ones I just tried to merge so it was 7,10,1,4,7,10 as timings so I just pushed the 10am one later and later til it merged with the 1pm one of that makes sense. Then did the same to merge the others. I dropped the middle ones on holiday a fortnight ago because we were in the pool all day I just
Completely forgot to pump for two days and then realised I hadn’t noticed so never went back to it.
The morning one I started reducing by a minute a day last week and when it got to 10 minutes I wasn’t getting any milk so dropped that one.
The evening one I’ve now got down to 10 minutes, and I’m still getting around 4oz so will drop that by a minute a day until that supply is gone too.
It’s been a long process but I get blocked ducts and mastitis really easily so had to be careful not to get ill.

: sorry, I did not get it. Why should you throw the stack?

You've done really well. It's exhausting pumping. I think more so than breastfeeding

because of allergies 🥲

: that's so not cool 😢, baby is fed well anyway in one way or the other. That's all matters .
How did you get the allergy btw ??

@Shruthi she is my third that's had allergies through breastmilk so was half expecting it. Formula is for my own sanity. I did the excluding from my own diet with my last baby and it was just a nightmare. She is soooo much happier , 100% right thing for her. Just a bit bitter sweet x

could you donate your frozen stash?

@Megan I believe you need blind tests etc prior go pumping the milk to donate

oh maybe I was thinking about the different mom facebook groups that look for moms in their area to donate their milk too

@Megan not really a thing in UK. Its still sat in the freezer now x

I didn’t know it was a thing here until I saw a friend on facebook post about it!
In case anyone else is wondering the groups in the US are HM4HB - your state.

I shall have a look thank you x
