When should I move my baby from a newborn car seat to a convertible car seat?

Just whenever you want to. If she still fits then no need. I liked the infant one because I could still put it on my stroller. But once he put grew or or got to heavy for me to carry it I switched it. But I didn’t really want to. If he fell asleep in the car I could take the car seat out but with the convertible I couldn’t. So you just have to weigh the pros and cons

You CAN switch to a convertible seat when the infant seat stops being convenient or gets too heavy with baby in it. You HAVE TO switch to a convertible seat when one of the limits is reached (height, weight, OR head height)

I did at 5 months when he could sit up semi unassisted for shopping cart reasons but he was a 98% baby so he was so heavy we made the switch early

I did around 8/9 months her legs where all against the car seat she looked so uncomfortable she’s long

Just so you know, long legs are not a reason to turn forward facing in your convertible seat

You’re supposed to switch once they max out on either height, weight or head height (whichever comes first)

Im switching my daughter at the end of the month, she’ll be one. But only because she’s about to max out on the height limit. She’s only 29 inches & max is 32.

She’ll be rear facing however till at least 2

Both of my kids still fit in the infant seat when we swapped.

My daughter we swapped to convertible at about 11mo. She just hates the car seat and the swap helped a bit.

My son we swapped at 4mo. Convertibles are a little more upright and he had bad reflux made worse in the car because the infant seats are more reclined.

Look at the info on the side of the infant car seat and it should say the max weight, height, and length. I would switch when you're child meets one of them but you can also switch them out when you like

I did when my daughter reached the height limits, she was around 15 months old

You should check your current carseat manual for age/weight recoms.
