I was also diagnosed with anaemia. If prescribed more than 200mg I’d recommend taking Feroglobin liquid and orange juice along side just a single 200mg dose instead of taking more tablets. I suffered with really bad tummy cramps when I took 2 lots of the 200mg, and my midwife told me your body struggles to absorb any more than that and can upset things a bit 😁 but I’m now 38 weeks, still take one dose and a high iron diet and I feel great 😁

Yes I’m currently anemic and I’m 24 weeks , using Iron tablet and trying to eat iron rich food and fruits

I was anemic and admitted to hospital for a week, I had 4 blood transfusions and one iron transfusion, I do have other health issues though as to why I became anaemic 🤦🏻♀️ all good now though🤣

Yeah, I've not been given tablets, the midwives here are active in natural fixes as much as possible in pregnancy and childbirth so they told me to eat meals with spinach, broccoli, beans and other high iron foods like lentils and chickpeas with a healthy dose of vitamin C (lemon juice) and then avoid dairy for about an hour. I did this everyday for a few days and my energy levels are back to normal. Now I keep something ready made that is high in iron in the fridge and tend to eat some every other day.
Iron tablets have all sorts of potential side effects like vomiting and constipation.

This happened to me except nobody told me, it was only when I went for my next midwife appointment that she asked how I was getting on with the tablets! Nothing to be worried about, you’re only slightly anaemic

I was put on iron as well. They failed to tell me to stop taking them when I had my c section and let me tell you that first poop felt like it WAS iron.

Yeah mines borderline low so I've just been put on iron. It's quite common and wise to keep an eye on it. My midwife said if you go into labour with low iron and then lose blood, you could end up feeling very poorly x

Yup! Also had on/ off anemia before pregnancy

Yes. I had it years before I fell pregnant, during pregnancy it got quite bad but it was mostly because of my nausea and then now 4 months pp I still have it quite bad. Take the tablets and keep getting them. The last thing you want is to end up on liquid iron either from a bottle or on a drip in hospital. Drink plenty of water and eat your veg. Something I should have done a long time ago haha

My levels were low before pregnancy so I definitely tested for having anemia during pregnancy and I’ve been eating oranges before eating meat. Dosing up a lil bit on iron pills

I was and a bit more than slight they were talking about iron transfusion. Took tablets and all good with iron (including black pudding) and it went up to almost the low limit 😇

Yup I got told yesterday at my appointment and it all makes sense now 😂, I pray the tablets work x
