Sertaline in pregnancy.

Hello ladies,

Hoping someone can help. I have been prescribed sertraline but have been reluctant to take it because of the side affects it can have on the baby. The doctors have said the risk is very low but I’m so anxious about it. Today it my second day taking it and I’ve gone to the toilet wiped and saw bright red blood but nothing on my underwear. Should I be panicking at this point? Should I stop taking ?

Please let me know

I'm taking a similar antidepressant while pregnant and was worried too, but in the end you have to balance the negative effects of untreated depression on your baby and you against the very small added risk caused by taking SSRIs So many women are taking then while pregnant. Here's a patient safety leaflet my GP sent me https://www.medicinesinpregnancy.org/Medicine--pregnancy/Sertraline/

I'm sorry you're feeling so anxious about things. Sertraline is often said to be the safest antidepressant to take when pregnant and remember both that your doctor has advised you to take it because they think it's in your best interests, and also that it is likely to take a couple of weeks for then to kick in properly. Best of luck x

I was taking sertraline for about a year before my pregnancy and then continued to take them throughout my whole pregnancy. I’m only just starting to come off them now and my daughter is 15 months, I never had any issues, apart from really horrible side effects when I started taking them. It took about a week for them to subside x

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?

Baby names

My daughter‘s name is valentýna and I’m struggling to find other nice girl and boy names beginning with V I’ve got a few and I’ve got loads that aren’t beginning with V, but I feel like I wanna go for all vs and I also love girl and boys names that match so because my daughter’s name is valentýna I would love to call my son Valentino my husband does not agree 😃

Induction or c section?

As a last resort, would you rather be induced or have a planned c section?

Really not liking the thought of being induced from people’s experiences I’ve read!

Almost 37 weeks + told to do another growth scan

I just had my second to last doctor’s appointment this morning, and my OB told me she wants me to do another growth scan because my belly is measuring small. She says it’s probably just because I’m a smaller woman, but they like to be safe. It’s hard to hear though, since I just did one a couple months ago.

I did this with my firstborn around this time of pregnancy, so I do think I just carry smaller (even though I don’t feel like I look “small” at all). My first baby was 6lbs 15oz when she was born at 41 weeks + 2 days. I’m having this baby at 39 weeks on April 7. I hope she’s still at least 6lbs.

Anyone have any stories similar to this?
