Flu

Morning ☀️. I'm 20 weeks on Monday, and I had been feeling either movement or braxton hicks for a while. However I have an ongoing flu and have not felt a single thing in my belly for about a week. I tried explaining to my midwife but she said that "my body will protect the baby". I have the flu pretty bad, it's affecting my eating, drinking, definitely affecting my sleeping to the point where I have had to call into work sick so many times because I haven't slept. Problem with being pregnant with the flu is I can't take most things that other people can. Trying to survive on vapour rub, honey and lemon, cold head strips but doesn't seem to be helping much. Anyway sorry I'm rambling on, is it normal for me to not feel anything for a week or should I be concerned? Also if anyone has any tips on getting rid of this flu I would REALLY appreciate it 🤒

You can safely take paracetamol!
I honestly wouldnt worry around the movement as there's no pattern or expectation to feel baby or be worried about not feeling baby, untill 24 weeks

I’m exactly the same. 19+5 and so so Ill. M I think it’s worse because we are pregnant our bodies do everything to protect baby so takes us longer/harder to over come. Surviving on the same as you - plus having a really steamy shower with some olbas oil in to help unblock. Finding I can’t sleep at night and eating is hard but doing so as thinking of fuelling my body to help baby. Haven’t felt movement yet but I’m trusting my body to do it’s job. Finding napping sitting up helps as (wrapped in a pregnancy pillow) it’s not all sitting on my chest.

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!

Anyone else’s owlet pi##ing them off ?!?! It goes off 5/6 a night saying it can’t get a reading and needs a snug fit. My baby is 8 months old so moves a lot. It is driving me insane and I keep end up taking it off!!
