Last night daughter went to bed she is 9 months old and I have a baby monitor next to me when was in livingroom and I saw she opened her eyes so I went through as normally it’s for her dummy and when I go in room she normally looks right at me and smiles etc but she was just looking right up to the roof and not responding to me at all but still breathing but like she couldn’t get a breath if you know what I mean, I rubbed her chest and then got my partner came through picked her up and her head went floppy she couldn’t hold it up and then like she got a breath and instantly started screaming, phoned nhs 24 and they had me take her to a&e where they said there is nothing to worry about they aren’t concerned about her but have no reason for what happened, she was happy as anything wishing 30 minutes after it

Hey mama this sounds a bit like an absent seizure. My little girl had them she'd often stare off into space or smile and flutter her lashed but was unresponsive to outside stimuli. I would try get an appointment with your gp to discuss and if it happens again as scary as it is try video it so they can see exactly what's going on.
It may not be this but it sounds similar xx

she didn’t move her eyes at all as I thought it could be that xx

@Rachel I know that they do just look as though there staring off and usually the smile is a muscle reflex. These usually only last 20-30 seconds but I know for us we had one last a couple minutes (felt like forever) I'd definitely speak to the gp to have it ruled out xx

thank you so much, honestly makes me so worried caused my anxiety to now be so bad with worry xx
