My kids dad wants to videocall every morning and every night. He'll get annoyed if he doesn't get a videocall and expects me to videocall even when we're busy doing something.
Last week Friday, Saturday and sunday- he promised each day to my little one that He'll come see him. He doesn't end up showing up and then that same night wants to video call. So this week my little one has had the pox and his dad's never had them so he can't see him for a week now anyway. He has bugged me for a videocall and I've only allowed one videocall which was yesterday morning. Since yesterday's videocall, he has asked me twice and I haven't responded.
Is it normal for the other parent to constantly want to videocall?
Me and his dad are no longer together due to his neglect over his child, putting himself first and barely ever making the effort.
When it comes to parenting he doesn't want to. He just wants videocalls.
Last week he stated " if Jordy not seeing me and being hurt is what you actually care about then live with that pain like I have to." He cancelled on Saturday morning, cancelled Saturday evening and then cancelled on Sunday evening.
I feel he's cancelling on our little one so I have to deal with the tantrums and my child being hurt. A narcissists punishment to the mother? He stated it in the above text. He then proceeded to ask for a videocall every night that he cancelled to see his son which I said no to.
Should I just put a full end to the videocalls?

Tell him that you have a busy schedule/day die to having the kids with no real help. You can allow 1 video call a week and u will pick the time. Maybe do it sometime b4 bed or with hrs of getting up for the days u don't work and they don't go to school/daycare. Tell him unfortunately ur time is important and u just don't have the time to take so many videos calls. How old are the kids? Are they old enough to do the call without u being right beside them?

Tell him to stop being a part time dad and actually come and see his child. Video calls don’t create the missing bond. That’s the problem with technology people think because they’ve spoke to a child it’s ok not to bother in real life actively🤷🏽♀️

@Jamie
Only 1 child and he's only 3 years old.
Think you're right with scheduling once a week video call.
Videocalling everyday/twice a day is just annoying.

@Kimberley
I've already said all that to him. He calls me the angry parent when I tell him to come see his son.
Feel he doesn't want to put in effort but wants to stay in his child's life so he keeps at it with the videocalls.
Just sick of the half ass parent

well tell him atleast you’re a parent that cares🤷🏽♀️ no child needs a half assed waster around them

@Kimberley that's true.
That will be used the next time I need to make my point. Thankyou 😂❤️

Do u guys have anything through the court? I would definitely if u don't already. Then so do communication through a parent app. Lol.
