Coming up to week 3, my breast tissue (not the nipple) feels weirdly itchy. They were engorged last night, but the little one drained me down. Any ideas, or what might help?

Cocoa butter or hydrocortisone will help

I would ask midwife as these things are best sorted asap, ideally for a referral to a breastfeeding consultant. Ive found midwives, doctors and paediatricians not always factual/knowledgeable about breastfeeding...and the latter 2 often giving incorrect advice and even medication to mums that arent compatible with breastfeeding!!. I would also consider ringing the national breastfeeding helpline asap first (if UK based) as they're best placed to direct you and give advice.
Could be thrush maybe in the breast tissue. I had this as my son has a severe tongue tie that created broken skin and we kept passing it between eachother, but I did have irritated nipples too.
Mastitis also has itchy-ness sometimes I believe, as we as red and hot patches on the breast. Draining down is good...check for any lumps where milk is stuck and get in a warm to hot shower and hand express it out.
Highly recommend checking with a breastfeeding consultant via midwife 👌

This happens to me when my boobs engorge, they also feel hot to the touch.
I haven’t had to try it but I’ve been told a wooden comb and coconut oil on your breast to massage it will help to release milk and perhaps it would soothe at the same time?
