Yesterday at dinner time my baby shook her head at least 5 times when offered water and does it sometimes before nap/sleep time when she decides she doesn't want more milk too. Do you think it's a sign she is starting to understand what no means and she begun to communicate it with me? She's almost 9 and half months old x

Yes, that's exactly what she's doing. My daughter learnt the word no, so she has never shook her head to say no. She laughs when I ask her to shake her head or nod for yes haha. She's nearly 18 months old x
and how many months old was she when she learnt to say "no"? We're just at the baba mama stage š she knows 100% what "no" and "stop" means since she was 4 months but that's when it comes from us, now she hopefully understands how to express it too. I was just little concerned too because I read it could be also sign of ear infection and she tries scratch her ears for months now just few times a day, nothing excessive in my opinion and her ears were checked once when she's had a cough but my mum always brings this up telling me I have to take her to the doctors with it (the scratch not the head shake) so it doesn't get unnoticed if it's something wrong with her ears... So mum guilt over here of course ... But I can clearly tell she does shake head "no" as to tell me no otherwise she doesn't do it and my mum is not even questioning this but when I searched Google yesterday to see at what age they start doing this because I thought it might be little too early so let's be proud a little but than
articles about other reasons started to pop out and one of them was ear infection or trapped water in middle ear so it worried me little bit if mum could be right about her ears not being ok.... Honestly sorry I am writing all of this and not sure what the aim is really because I really think this is her communicating rather than anything with her ears.. š¤·š¼āāļø
