Placenta at front of my bump!

Hey ladies, so this is my first pregnancy. I went for my 20 wk scan yesterday and was informed that my placenta is at the front. Explains why my bump is already looking big for 20wks. My friend who is pregnant with her second has the same thing although she is due in a couple of weeks. She told me that she hasn’t felt baby move that much compared to her first one. I’m worried now as I have felt the odd small movement but concerned that as time goes on I won’t be able to feel little one in the way I should. Does anyone else have their placenta on the front and how are they finding it. As long as baby is healthy that’s all that matters…I’ve waited 9 years for this little one. Thanks xx

I tried for 10 years for this one and I’m 22 weeks and just found out mine is in front too I think I felt him kick once a few weeks ago I’m hoping I’ll feel him ya know cause I’d like to experience it but like u said as long as he’s healthy that’s all that matters

You’ll feel baby. I also had a sunny side up placenta and it did take a bit for me to feel my baby move if this is also your first kid it takes a bit longer to feel baby move ingenaral. The upside to this is that when your in labor your contactions won’t be as painful as they would be with your placenta not being in the front of your belly.

I’m 21 weeks, first pregnancy, with an anterior placenta and I first felt baby a couple of weeks ago now. Flutters and kicks have really ramped up this week for me, especially in the evenings when I sit down to relax after eating. I’ve no idea if it’ll continue or get any stronger with the placenta position with it being my first but it’s definitely baby I’m feeling, it’s a sensation I’ve never felt before!

Mines anterior but I feel my little girl move a lot and have done for weeks now, but I tend to feel it low down. You’ll get accustomed with the movements eventually and you’ll love it😊

LO is 6 weeks old now, mine was in the front/low lying & early on it was hard to feel movement. I could, but not as often/strong as I did with my first. Later on in the pregnancy, once she was bigger, she def made up for it & I could feel a ton of movement. I did end up having pretty intense back labor & wonder if the placenta location played any part in that… Best of luck!!

I was told mine was anterior at my 20 week scan which explained why I hadn’t felt much movement. However I’m 22 weeks tomorrow and I’ve felt lots of kicks this week so I think it may have moved 😊 hopefully yours does the same! Don’t worry. As long as baby is okay that’s the main thing 😊. X

I have an anterior placenta, I'm 22 weeks today and I mainly feel him kicking very low down but if I'm lying in bed I feel lots of movements further up 😊

mines the same! Been feeling him move for nearly a week now but it’s low down xx

Yeah both my pregnancies had them still felt kicks I’m 21 weeks and he’s kicking away this morning including kicking his sister in the head when she laid on me 😂

I’m 21 weeks and found out at my 20 week scan I have an anterior placenta too.
I tend to feel movement inside, but not kicks on the outside like a typical pregnancy.
Movement seems to be most common when I’m lay on my side!

I’m 22 weeks (also anterior placenta) and have been feeling movement since about 19/20 weeks, at first it was flutters that I wasn’t really sure was movement but I feel her flip and turns quite strongly now - no mistaking it.

It’s just very difficult to see/feel from the outside. I hope you feel your little one move soon x

I'm 22 weeks tomorrow first baby and anterior placenta and last few days have started to feel movements, started like popping bubbles and now is a little stronger but it's very few and far between which I think is to be expected x

This is my third anterior placenta, you will feel baby and see movements from the outside but it takes a few weeks longer. I always managed to pick up a pattern and count their kicks later on it didn't cause me any issues or concerns!x

I had my 20 week scan yest too and also have an anterior placenta. I’m not sure if I have felt the baby a few times in the last week but it’s been so inconsistent it could of also been gas or growing pains 😳 There is nothing to worry about. You will feel your baby it might just take a few more weeks.

My first was in front and I had nothing to compare it to but I was able to pick up a pattern of movements. This time it’s behind and I can definitely feel it on outside more/ my partner can and I felt earlier but otherwise pretty similar

Avatar

Thanks ladies for all your comments. Feeling much better about it all now. Can’t wait for the movements to be more obvious xx

Mine is at the front to, but can def
Feel baby boy move, but it’s more at the bottom x

Help

I was getting pretty painful period cramps and during those, I had painful lower back cramps. I had these on and off for like a few hours so from about 10:30pm to 1am?

I’ve had no show, or anything like that.

Is this braxton hicks or early labour pains?

Little girl turning herself sideways in next to me

My little girl tonight, has spun herself so she is lying sideways in her next to me, making me panic!

Is this normal at 4.5 months, do I just lie her back normally/vertically?

Labour??

I’ve had on/off mild period cramps since 9 last night, very irregular and very mild, but I just had one that woke me up. My waters haven’t gone and nor has my mucous plug… but could this be a sign that it’s close?! I’m 40+3 and desperate to meet her!

Ways to induce labor naturally

Hi All! FTM, Entering week 40 and no signs of labor, no dilation yet. Please share tips and ways to induce natural labor. Induction is already scheduled on week 41 but don’t want to go through that process.

Early waters/pre term labour?

I can’t get checked until later today unfortunately. I can’t tell if I’m leaking/starting early. I definitely think I’m having braxton hicks yesterday and today.. i have some pain in my back but she is quite low down so hoping it’s just pressure, baby was a little quieter yesterday but she’s back to more normal movements today, but my underwear just seems to get so wet, especially after going to the bathroom. And I honestly can’t work out the smell, I’m pretty sure it’s just discharge/urine leaking but there’s that worry in my mind a little. Are there any other ways to know/check if it could be the start of it all?

Groin pain?

So I’m 34 weeks with my second and for a couple days now I’ve had terrible groin pain so bad that sometimes I can’t even walk or shift a certain way or I feel like the baby is just gonna rip out of my groin… I definitely was uncomfortable towards the end with my last pregnancy but this is just absolutely awful. Is anyone else experiencing this? Or anything that helps?? It’s making it so hard to still care for a toddler when I can barely move without pain..
