Hey lovelies,
I’m off for an early gender scan Saturday and I’ll be 15 weeks I’m really worried they won’t be able to see the gender due to my extra weight currently a UK 20/22. Scans haven’t been very clear so far and I’m so nervous… any advice?

They say to drink as much water as possible the week leading up to the ultrasound. Apparently it gives them a clearer view. ❤️

I was a size 24 when I had mine at 16 weeks (I wasn't aware they do before 16w tbh).
It's not recommended to drink as much as possible. You want a just full bladder. Too full a bladder can push the bladder into view- I had this and had to do a kind of half wee 🤣
I had a very wriggly little boy and had to leave the room and come back, but it still didn't work so.was rebooked. On the next go after changing positions it was all fine and clear. I carry my weight in my tummy and had an anterior placenta. X

I had to do what @Che mentioned and get rebooked, except the second time they also couldn't see anything 🤦♀️ I got to know from my 20 week scan, which took 1.5h and I kept apologising for my size and all that. The sonographer just laughed it off and told me it's literally nothing to do with me all to do with baby being difficult and not wanting to show anything. Now I joke that she didn't want to show because they were all men and she's a girl and she was shy 🤭 she's just always been difficult on scans and every sonographer has said it's not because if me or my size.
Sorry this isn't very positive, just want you to know it's not you, most of the time it'll be baby being too small or in a difficult position and refusing to move 😅 now I say she makes everyone work for their money haha
Wishing you and baby a positive experience ❤️ please don't be hard on yourself
