My baby is now 4 months old but can’t sit up on his own without help. Is it okay to give him puréed food or do I have to wait till he can sit up unassisted?

He doesn't need to sit unassisted, but when sat on your lap should have very good head control (not 'bobbing'). This and if he is showing interest in food, then yes you can start with purees.

My 4mo is learning to sit up but I use like sheet or towel roll up behind her in highchair so she doesn't move too much. You can see behind my LO.

Start your baby when they show signs. If they're interested in food now go for it. My daughter is 4 months adm can sit in the high chair just fine thsts all that really matters, I havnt started feeding her yet as she used to look interested but ever since the high chair she isn't opening her mouth for food anymore so im jsut waiting and watching

It’s recommended to wait until 6 months and personally I don’t see the reason to rush. I’d much rather be safe then sorry:/

I started solids at 4 months, he’s now close to 5 months and we are now on 2 solids a day in addition to his bottles. I have only given purées. Its fun, if you think bub is ready then go for it! Embrace the mess!

Every baby is unique. You know your baby best, mama. So many babies will not be able to wait until 6 months to start eating. I have huge babies and they are damn strong and damn hungry for way more than milk. Once you start, for 1 or 2 weeks you might find bub only eats a teaspoon or so and that's okay! I won't tell you how much my giant son is eating everyday 🙈🙈

He loves it he knows when foods coming and what food is

He’s only had tastes though I don’t think I’m going to fully feed him until he hits the 6 months or sits up completely unassisted
