I had an emergency c section at 34 wks 5 days for twins. I am 3 days postpartum now but I don’t have any milk or clostrum. I tried hand expressing but it made my neck, back and chest very sore and i was not able to collect anything.
I am worried I won’t be able to give my small babies the nutrition they need right now.
Please guide me on this or anything that helped you.
Thank you for all the help guys

I’m 4 days PP after an emergency section at 31+1 and the midwife helped me start hand expressing then got me using the pump yesterday - ask for help is my main advice as I had no idea what to do and it’s now working well!

If your hospital have them, they need to get the breastfeeding support workers involved. I’m surprised they haven’t done so already.
Slightly different situation as I was able to hand express colostrum after my section but as my baby wouldn’t latch they gave me a pump day 2 and this brought my milk in early.

I had an emergency c-section at 42+1 after being induced and my milk came in probably a week later. I really struggled with breastfeeding even with the help from the midwives in the hospital, so I switched to formula. I felt so bad about giving up cause I really wanted to breastfeed, but my midwife reminded me that my daughter got 4 days of my colostrum and that gave her a boost and at least I'd tried. Talk to the midwives and they may be able to help you.

I had to give my baby formula for the first four days until my milk came in after my C/S! Just keep pumping and trying to nurse! You got this!! 💕💕
