Comfort Sucking

Yep! We have just introduced the pacifier which I didn’t want to use but felt we had no choice. That’s seemed to have helped a bit but if I get too close to her and she realises I’m there, she wants to comfort feed again.
I know she’s definitely not hungry, but she just wants the boob all the time!

Yes my bubs is like that but with the bottle as I don’t breastfeed and he wants the bottle for comfort but I just try the dummy until he takes it as he realises he isn’t getting the bottle unless it’s for feeding so he will go for the dummy which slowly is working as he’s starting to realise what the dummy is for

Yep! My 7 week old son does this, usually when he is overtired or has any discomfort. We introduced a dummy and it works 99% of the time, sometimes he still wants the boob but it has helped!

My daughter is 6 weeks old now, we have found that if we swaddle her once she is very calm and has heavy eyes, then place her in the bassinet, she will go to sleep without much trouble.

Yea, my daughter does this. Sleeps best with a warm breast pressed on her cheek. Tried a dummy but she just gags and spits it out 9/10 times.

same here!! She refuses to take a dummy but wants to sleep with the boob as close as possible to her

We just reintroduced breastfeeding two weeks ago (tough three weeks at the start) and bub is very much wanting to comfort suck. He'll wake crying, I pop him on the boob and he falls asleep in less than a min. He typically takes a dummy but sometimes he just needs some cuddles to get back to sleep 🤗 I wasn't impressed at first but soaking up all the cuddles he wants while he's little and embracing that he is back on the boob 🙌

my daughter is exactly the same and I've tried all kinds of dummies and bottle teats. Looks like I'm breastfeeding exclusively till she is on solids.
