My ex and I sacrificed so much to get where we are including happiness, now that we're almost settled with a good path a head he tells me he wants a divorce. We have a 2 year old who is the most wonderful thing. But now I'm starting over in a new state with a toddler. I still really love this man even though my head says I shouldn't. He's already moving on, we just split beginning of July. I'm still finding a job, found day care and trying to get medical insurance. But this whole thing has me beaten down, if he couldn't learn to love me in 12 years, what hope do I have for the future. And I don't think I can make it alone. I'm scared and heart broken. What did you Ladies do to get back up? What can I do?

My ex wasn’t a nice dude, repeatedly cheated on me, we had a son etc. Finally left him and 6m later met my current husband who is absolutely the best man and had made me feel loved from day one , it’s bleak right now but you will absolutely get through it.

It does get better. Just take one step at a time. You will find yourself and love again. You are stronger than you know and can do more than you think you can.

Im so sorry. It is so so hard and it feels like the end of the world. I was the same. It does get better snd then worse and better and worse. But slowly you recover.
Best things for me were:
1. make a list of all the things you didn't like about your ex, all the ways in which he wasn't right for you. Keep it close and read it every day
2. A book called the black swan by Susan Anderson
3. Podcasts and youtube about heartbreak and separation, I understood a lot about relationships there (including the 2 tips above) and learnt things that may help in future relationships.
Give yourself time and permission to be sad. Sending you lots of love 💕

These were great too. I put some on post its all around the house ... a bit mental ... haha... but a reminder that i would get through this and show him and me

Focus on yourself and little one and do some healing....it may be difficult but you will get past it and who knows down the line end up in another beautiful but lasting relationship. Keep your head up

Thank you Ladies, I appreciate you all being supportive it's been a rough week. I was down and I think I got through the wave, but it was a tidal wave. And I'll definitely check out the podcast and book. I started making a list of the negative, and I'll just keep adding. Thank you everyone I love you all for taking time to lift me up.

I don’t have any advice because I’m currently going through almost the same situation. Ex and I split early August and we have an 8 month old. Recently realized and processing that he was both verbally/ emotionally abusive throughout our almost 5 year marriage. Starting over now in a new state, but I’m still financially dependent on him due to severe health problems leaving me unable to work. Can’t apply for disability while we’re still legally married because his income counts as mine. It’s a tough situation overall. I’m tired.
