Anyone dealing/dealt with toddler head hitting? My son’s been hitting his head on the headboard, floor, walls, cabinets intentionally for months but recently it’s become more frequent. Multiple times a day. Sometimes it’s bc I’m not responding to him immediately and other times he just does it seemingly randomly.
Pediatrician said to keep an eye out and make sure he’s not acting like he’s in pain when he does it, and now I’m freaking out wondering if he’s just living life in pain! 🥺
She also said to keep him in a safe area when it happens, but he just does it throughout the entire day. I can’t keep him in a padded room lol. I don’t know what to do!

My daughter does this whenever I tell her no and other times. I think it’s just a coping thing. 🤷🏼♀️

do you find it’s pretty random too? Like does she do it while she’s playing and clearly happy?

My daughter does this when she gets upset for not getting what she wants. She head buds me or head buds whatever is close to her, I got used to it that I react instantly before she can even try to head bud. She’s 14 months now and doesn’t really do it anymore.
My little brother used to hit his own head with his hand when he was upset (when he was like 1 years old). Doesn’t do it anymore either, I’m not sure why some toddlers do this but I just always made sure they don’t hurt themselves
