Been using a manual pump for 8 weeks and get a lot of milk using it but manually pumping multiple times a day is taking its toll on me! I wanna use a hands free pump sometimes but I’m worried I won’t get as much milk out and they are so expensive! I don’t want to waste my money! Has anyone used a manual pump and a hands free one and been able to get the same results?

I have elvie and manual medela, I prefer my manual one because I can get more out.

They're not hands free really are they unless you get the bra to go with them

The Elvie stride pump works well for me but I haven’t done any manual expressing. It has good suction and sits well in the different styles of maternity bras that I have. I get a lot more milk when I express at the same time as my baby’s feeding from the other breast.

Has anyone used Tommy tippy’s electric one?

@Bouchra yes it's awful. Ruined my supply.
I exclusively pumped for my first for well over a year, and I'm currently combi feeding my second. My absolute go to pump is the lasinoh double electric. It's hospital grade without the price. I get more with that than I did the medela pump I borrowed from the hospital. As for hands free, I really don't reccomend them for full time pumping but they are okay for when you are busy. I have the momcosy m5 I think, and I get maybe half my usual amount, but I'd use my lasinoh a little earlier than my normal session if I use it.
Other than the elvie I don't think they're worth it.

I have the momcozy s12 pro, its OK for occasional pumping (I use it once a day) and can do bits and bobs round the house while pumping! Don't have anything else to compare it to but I usually get around 2/3oz

@Bouchra I have a tommee tippee manual pump and a tommee tippee electric pump. I find the electric one works well for me and I can pump more milk out compared to the manual. I also find the electric one is also handy to secure it in a bra so I can do other things too

Fraupow x

I have the pippeta hands free, I really wish I had a electric double pump now though to cut down the time I spend pumping! ☺️

I never used a manual one but I got a handsfree Fraupow one and i got about 60/70ml initially, I was then advised that if you double pump you would get more so I bought a second one, after that I got about double 100-150ml every time so definitely would recommend getting for both breasts at the same time. Also saves you half the time!

I cut two holes in an old sports bra and I use that to pump so I’m hands free, saves buying a pump bra, I use the Ardo Alyssa double electric pump and v happy so far but I’m EBF so only pump once a day so my partner can feed her in the evening with a bottle

Medela one is good 👍🏼
