My little one is only 12 days old and I'm trying my best with breastfeeding but my nipples are in agony every time I feed her. I can't pump as it's too painful so I'm scared my milk supply is going to dwindle as we are topping her up with formula when I'm too sore to feed. Anyone got any suggestions to help? I also feel she's not latching deep enough but have tried everything and she always latches the same or slides off and takes only my nipple

I would recommend getting a lactation consultant to com to your home if you can. They can offer the best help for your specific situation

I've been using nipple shields and nipple balm to soothe mine. I also bought these pads you can cool and heat to put on them to take away the soreness.

This happened to me and it turns out he was tongue tied xx

I’m having similar issues with latch being too shallow. Look up the flipple technique as that has helped us. I also bought the silver cups to put in my bra between feeds and I’d really recommend those to help the nipples heal

Definitely try and find a lactation consultant, lots of hospitals/councils provide drop in sessions with them.
They recommended other positions for me, like rugby ball that can help get a deeper latch.

Silver cups really soothe my nipples!

Nip sheilds 😊

Silver cups made a big difference for me so did a warm flannel before feeding. Instead of expressing try a Haakaa as this catched the outlet instead of pumping.
