He’s finally here 🥰

My son was born on October 3rd via unplanned C section. I was induced for gestational diabetes at 39.5 weeks and after 2 days of trying to kick start labor with no progression, my sons heart rate started to drop with the use of Pitocin. I made a very tough choice and opted for a C section to avoid any further decelerations and to be able to have my husband there with me (in an emergency C section you’re completely asleep and can’t have anyone in the operating room). It was the right choice and my son was born perfectly healthy at 7lbs 8oz.
Recovery is kicking my ass but I’m just trying to give myself grace and remember it takes weeks to recover. I have earned a new level of respect for C section moms, this is definitely not the “lazy” way out.

Congratulations!! I have a similar story - induced at 38.5 weeks due to high blood pressure, baby’s heart rate was dropping drastically during every contraction, had to have an urgent C-section to get him out. It’s been 10 days since my surgery and recovery has definitely been rough, but getting better (with some ups and downs). Hang in there, you’ve got this!

so glad to hear it gets better! The burning on one side of my incision is unreal when I get up and stand.
I’m glad you were able to get your baby out safely! You did a great thing! ♥️💪

Congratulations!!! May I ask how long after you were able to hold him? No golden hour for c-section mamas?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
