vitamin D

i’m EBF, and just wondering if I need to give my baby vitamin D drops even though I’m still taking the prenatal vitamin. I don’t want to make her sick but I can’t find a direct answer online. I’ve been giving her drops once a day at 400 IU. Do I need to stop the drops or continue as I’m doing? Thank you

The concentration of vitamin D in breast milk is low - so they recommend giving the baby supplements by drops for that reason I believe.

Continue. Vitamin D is essential and deficiency has a knock on effect, making you and/or baby more susceptible to illness.

I read a study recently that said 1200 IUs for baby produced even better health outcomes than the recommended 400 IUs. Very interesting (and promising). It’s virtually impossible to “OD” on D. Personally, we give our 4 month old between 400 and 1200/day. At minimum,!I would suggest doing 400.

It really won’t harm to give your baby a dose of vit D as well.

It’s really better to make sure they have all vitamin D they need, rather than risk complications of deficiency

Mama needs new friends ✨

Hey mamas 🤍 I'm going to be honest — I'm at a season in my life where I'm craving real, genuine friendship. The kind where we actually check on each other. Where conversations go both ways. Where we can laugh, vent, cry, and just *be* without it feeling one-sided.

I'm a stay at home mom of 6 (yes, 6! 👏🏼) and my days are full but my cup feels a little empty in the friendship department. I'm looking for women who get it — the chaos, the beauty, the exhaustion, all of it.

If you're a mom who values deep, reciprocal friendship and you're also out here looking for your people — drop a 👋 below. Let's actually get to know each other. 🤍

Leaving your baby

Has anyone else not left their baby to be looked after by someone else (not dad) yet? I still don't feel ready but am being told I should be by now

Random but when you use a vibrator do you need to hold your lips open for it to touch the bean ?

It gets annoying because even if I open my legs I still need to hold the lips open to touch the bean and I have to do it the entire time my lips are literally sealed closed 🤣
