Pretending that you are not in labor? That's not a mentally healthy strategy. You need to talk to you OB about anxiety meds asap. And maybe talk to a therapist bc that is a sure way to have extreme postpartum mental problems.

i think she meant like in denial she’s going to go into labor, that’s more what i got from it at least..which i can relate to with my baby measuring 2 weeks big lol

@Cheyenne I get that as well I was that way for 3 months when I found out I was having twins. I had extremely bad panic attacks everytime I even would try to start a registry or talk about it. Denial is even a worse idea bc then if she is in labor and ignores it they could both be in harms way.
Drea you got this girl. Being a mom is scarry and the hardest thing you will ever do but it if going to be the best. I got the best advise ever from a little old lady the other day. If it isn't hard you are not doing it right bc it is stressful and hard bc you care and when you care you do your best. And you best is good enough no matter waht anyone tells you.

im not sure anyone could just ignore labor lol

@Cheyenne I know a lady that did lol it was wild and has to be super rare but she went in for a regular appointment and was in labor didn't even know dilated to a 10 and had the baby in the sac it didn't even brake. Was so wild.

If you search « coherence cardiaque » on Spotify there’s lots of two tone songs to help you breathe in and out, I found them more calming than people talking at me. I will say my first birth went sooooo much better and easier than I thought it would!
It’s nice that I had pelvic PT before so she was able to show me what kinds of pain/pressure are normal and nothing to worry about, that helped a lot mentally on the day. It’s also nice to have something like a TENS machine, not just for pain relief but I felt like it gave me something to focus on and do while laboring at home.
Is there stuff that soothes your body in general/makes you feel safe? Tight hugs, scalp massage, fidget toys, clothes without seams? Build that into your birth plan.

Omg thank you! i’ve never heard of coherence cardiaque before and it’s suuper reassuring that first birth went easier than you thought ☺️ ppl tend to tell me their horror stories or omit all info all together lol!
Ooh my husband has a TENS. Do you have it on only during contractions or even when they’ve settled down?
I didn’t think to include the other things that soothe me too. ☺️ ty ty these are helpful

Thank you ! Mama and baby are safe ☺️ i’m just trying to prepare while also not worrying about it too much until it happens but we’re fast approaching!

girrl yes u get it xD i thought i still had plenty of time then my braxtons started getting more intense and now i’m like OK WAIT lmao gotta preparing now cuz ow x) good luck to you babes! 2 weeks ahead wao you’re so close!

yea lol i’m definitely in the same boat lol thank you, you good luck too!!

Mine was specifically for labor and I rented it from my PT! I had it during laboring at home so from early contractions through to like 4cm dilated, then I got the epidural.
