*this is just a friendly question*
In your home, do you do Microwavable Meals? Doesn’t matter if it’s occasionally or regularly.
Or do you always do the stove/oven when you cook at home?
There is no right or wrong answer; just want to see!
I’ll be the first to say we do utilize the microwave! My child is 4 and has taking a HUGE interest in cooking with Mama & just helping in general. I’ve decided that the microwave is step 1 with items that that can actually cook/heat food.
We’re also a really really busy family (I know some of you on here are too!) & popping a Birds Eye Meal in the microwave that’s balanced is sometimes the only option we got 🤷🏼♀️😄 I’m not ashamed of that.
I use the stove & oven all the time as well; especially when it comes to baking treats and/or doing baked dinners for other local families! I also rely heavily on my Crockpot (best Christmas gift everrrrr)!
Side Question: If you use something other then the stove/oven to cook; have you gotten negative comments from others? I know I have. I hear it all the time how “a crockpot is lazy cooking” & “microwaved dinners makes you seem like a bad mom”.
Just wanna say…food is food. You cook it however you’d like/however you can.
(Don’t be serving them babies no frozen nuggets; at least heat em up! 😂😂😂😂 jk jk I had to joke)

I use an air-fryer and a small convection oven.

Omg I use every trick in the book 😂 there’s tons of things I use the microwave for. Steaming broccoli, baking sweet/regular potatoes, corn, salmon. Thawing last minute frozen sausages or chicken to cook. I use the crockpot but not religiously, because everything just turns to stew in it 🤷♀️ so, great on the days you want stew/soup. There’s days we use the grill to make some burgers and not use the stove. I roast veggies and/or chicken in the oven.

We use the stove/oven & air fryer.. My babies steamer & grill often. Haven't had a microwave in years plus we really don't have room for one. But yes everyone is able to do as they please.

yeah I forgot the air fryer!

Both. We used to have an air fryer but it crapped out on us a few months ago.

We use our toaster over for almost everything…and a rice cooker

yes, rice cooker and toaster too!

I don’t use a microwave at all after learning what it does to your food and I wouldn’t step near one while I was pregnant. I use the stove/oven or air fryer for everything. There nothing that can’t be cooked or reheated on a stove or in an oven. We don’t eat frozen microwave dinners so I never felt like it was a must, haven’t had a microwave in years

Stove because I enjoy cooking and I prefer healthier eating

Now full meals but some ingredients like steam in bag veggies or zucchini muffins. It's hard for us to find microwaveable meals because there are a bunch of ingredients we don't eat (trans fat ingredients so anything with hydrogenated, partially hydrogenated, or interesterified oils and mono and diglycerides) which are in a lot of microwaveable foods. We use the stove, oven, air fryer, crockpot, instapot, and sous vide a lot too. Who cares if someone says something is lazy cooking? They don't like it, they can come over and do the cooking or shut their mouths. 🤷🏻♀️

I have an Emeril Lagasse 9 in 1 oven that does literally everything including air frying and rotisserie. It is the best appliance ever. I use it pretty much everyday. My stover broke recently and I was not effected at all because I made everything in my 9 in 1.

We use the microwave, oven and air fryer.

I don’t buy microwaveable meals but I microwave lots of things, left overs or those bags of steamable veggies, a can of rinsed beans. It’s a great thing to have in the kitchen.
