Has anyone chosen not to have their other half as their birth partner?
I am thinking I want someone more supportive and positive with me.
I have had several visits to maternity triage lately all alone. My partner seems to think he isn't required to be there to support me. I feel like I am doing this alone :(
interested to see if anyone opted for a friend or parent to be their support during their labour?

Remember you can have who ever you want there to support you and make this the most amazing experience for you & the baby 🤍 don’t feel bad about that x x

I think labour ward is a stressful word on its own, not to talk of the experience, you don’t need any negative energy around you.
For your own sanity (cos birth experience is what you will remember for decades if not for life), get someone on your side please.
Just this morning, I just heard a complaint relating to this and I think it doesn’t really worth it.
I wish you the very best

I feel the same with mine ! Hasn’t supported me the whole way through so have chosen to have my 25 year old Daughter in the room with him also! Just so he gets to see the birth of his child no other reason xx
sorry you feel this way too. I told him this morning I am sick of his negative energy and non stop moaning and that right now I don't even want him in the room at all. He said nothing 🤷🏼♀️
He's never happy and I can't deal with all the negativity its not fair on me or the baby x

You can have whoever you want at the birth.
I have only had my partner attend private scans and the 12 & 20 week scan.
The reason being all appointments he would have to make up the time at work. I think it’s more hassle than it’s worth so wouldn’t ask him to attend even one where I thought I was experiencing reduced movements. Whereas I get paid to attend appointments.
So for me I wouldn’t have my husband attend appointments that require me to go to triage. We do have a 2 year old but even at that I wouldn’t expect him to attend if this was my first.
He was great during the birth of my first and wasn’t negative.

I am having my mum and my best friend with me, not the baby's dad.
