Has anyone accepted an induction with restrictions? I have just been to my midwife appointment (currently 38 + 5) and worst case scenario i don’t go into labour before my due date then they will start discussing booking an induction before 40 + 7 which she asked if i would be open to however i really really want a water birth this time and i know that some stages of induction you can’t. Has anyone accepted an induction but on the basis you just have the pessary and breaking of waters? I really do not want the drip, can I refuse if Ive already started the process?
I appreciate this is all what ifs and i am hoping i will go into spontaneous labour like i did with my first but just want to be prepared 🫶🏼🙏🏼

You can refuse if you have started the process
I want a water birth but also because of my disability I know some of the forms of induction won’t suit me so I’ve told my midwife that

You can refuse absolutely anything at any point - they can advise you and will discuss any risks of not doing as advised but they will continue to keep you up to date with progress etc and you can always try without to begin and then if things start to look like you need to you can later on.
I had just my waters broken and the plan was to then take me to the birthing suite where I wanted to give birth (they had to break my waters while on labour ward) and upstairs in the birthing suite you weren’t allowed to be on the drip but my daughter had other ideas and came too quickly after my waters breaking for me to go anywhere😅

Yes u can refuse ive been induced with passery gel for 23 hrs and 3 dosage after that i was only 2 cm dilated i refuse the drip and wait for naturally my water broke after 48 hrs of labor and i gave birth after 10 more hrs with epidural
