First time harvesting colostrum

I gave it a go for the first time tonight, after a warm shower, very chilled and relaxed, did all the massage first.

After 10 minutes, my nipple did get wet and the tiniest bit came out but not anything like enough to catch or would even be called a drop.

Am I doing something wrong? Anyone else experience the same but ended up being able to capture some?

I’ve tried for the first time tonight after a bath too. I had the same experience as you. Tiniest drop and don’t understand how to get it in the syringe either 😩

I'm 5 days in and still the same. Have tried lots of different methods too. I have been told though it doesn't mean it won't happen and be what yoir milk supply is like

I have nothing, not even a drop, and I'm over 37 weeks. It is so disheartening.. but from what I've read, some people don't get any until baby is born

Try for 10 mins up to three times a day, but don’t stress if it doesn’t come might just need a little longer to come, I can harvest on one side but the other prefers the Hakka but took a while to get any out but now I have managed with more ease, sounds silly but watching YouTube video ect can help and there is so many techniques for different people xx

I’ve been collecting in a sterilised teaspoon and then my husband syringes it from the teaspoon for me

that’s a good idea. I’ll try that. Thank you 😊

Sounds like you’re doing all the right things! It can take a while so be patient. Bath, massage oil, cup of tea so you’re nice and relaxed and slow squeezes.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Hi ya'll

Is anyone else's 4 month old randomly screeching now? I'm not sure what to do and she's been doing this for the past two days. She's usually a quiet happy baby so im not sure why she's doing this now. Aby suggestions?

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
