What are your must haves?
Any steamer / blender recommendations?
I’ve been looking at the tommee tippee one but don’t know if it’s cheaper and better to just get a normal food steamer and wand blender ?

With BLW you don't steam &blend (well unless it's mashed potatoes or something), you give then appropriately cut food from what you're having. Yeah, veg needs to be soft, but you can leave it to cook a little longer than yours.
So technically you just need a high chair (even though you could have them on your lap) and som coverals are helpful with clean up. You don't even need plates at first, just a baby spoon, as you're more likely just going to place food on a tray in front of them

I did a course over the weekend and they advised all vegetables need to be steamed to make them soft enough for baby to eat (melt in the mouth) and to avoid boiling as it takes the nutrients out of the vegetables x

The solid starts app! It’ll give you the correct way to serve most foods 😊 other than that just a good cleaning product and the patience of a saint 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

you can just put a sieve over pan with boiling water and put veggies there to steam. I'm not a big fan of buying extra stuff for maybe 2-3 month, I assume they will get better closer to a year and it will be more of our consistency

You don’t really need a steamer if you don’t want, just as easily can steam with a colander in a pan as Lenka has mentioned. If you are blw you don’t need a blender, I used to just use the back of fork to mash some bits up. The solid starts app is amazing as Lizzie has mentioned. Highly recommend pages like @startingsolidswithsunnie, @weaningwithmaya and @theweaninggp on Instagram for real life inspo and advice on weaning.
I really liked the Bibado coveralls for ease of cleaning and still use the same ones now my LG is nearly 2 and I loved the Doddl cutlery from when my LG was around 1, it really helped her learn how to use cutlery properly and now she can use normal cutlery too. I thought I’d love bamboo plates and bowls and even though I still use them (they were so expensive) they are very high maintenance so if you want to save yourself the hassle I’d just go with plastic or silicone plateware instead.
A good highchair is an investment though, they don’t have to cost a lot but

just needs to have a place to rest their feet and a wide table so that LO has room to explore with their food x

Oh also to add about the melt in the mouth thing, my daughter didn’t cut her first tooth till after she turned 1 but you’ll be surprised by just how tough their gums can be! X
