Sterilisation during c section

How did you elect for this? Was it as simple as just letting for midwife/consultant know? I didn’t know this was an option x

Thankyou! Yeh I’ve heard some stories of it happing and then within a few years they’ve fallen pregnant again🥲🥲 preying it won’t happen to me!!! C

on my 28 week appointment for my date of my c section they asked if I wanted to have it, it was something I was considering I didn’t know they offer it I literally thought it was if you had medical problems ect! But it’s my 3rd baby maybe that’s why I’m not sure xx

I am supposed to be having it done during my c-section I said from the day I met my consultant I wanted it I had to fight them for them to accept as im only 27 but this is my 3rd and 4th baby with a complicated pregnancy , I was told I can have it done on the NHS when I have my c-section if there is no complications, but if I wanted it to be reversed it would have to be private and there is a small chance for it to be reversed, I was also told having the tubes removed are more likly to be successful then having them tied xx

why did you have to fight ? I’m only 23 and this is my 3rd baby I have no health issues and they offered it to me whilst filling out the consent form for my c section ? I’m having the one where they cut and tie my tubes xx

Because they kept saying I'm still young and about I may regret it but also because my pregnancy is high risk I also have quite a few health issues so they don't think it is gonna be simple, even now they keep saying there are other types of birth control but I became pregnant on birth control this pregnancy so am determined to have it done.

I’ve had mine done 2 weeks ago and it’s so tender. My C-section itself stopped hurting after 3-4 days but my stomach above and around my belly button is really tender. And if I do to much I find my belly swells a little.
During though the delivery your baby and then take your uterus out and cut away enough of your tubes so that they have less of a possibility of regrowing/attaching. And then place everything back. Or at least this is what they did for me.
