Anybody else’s 9-10mo waking up after 30min nap?

It’s anywhere from 30-45min, which he hasn’t done since he was like 4mo. Another regression? Random? Need to extend his wake window? Lol He’s currently going down for his first nap after 3hr 15min-ish.

Yup!! Right there with you! It’s not consistent but she will wake up after 30 min some days. No idea what it is just trying to go with it. Ugh!

Avatar

Yea ma’am. 30 to 40 mins is his usual nap range

Avatar

I hear it’s a sleep regression due to separation anxiety

Avatar

My LG has one nap 30-45 mins and another one sometimes longer (1h15min) sometimes again 45 mins. I think that’s normal

Avatar

Yes mine too

Avatar

Yes! He used to nap an hour or two and now it’s no more than 45 twice a day and he’s waking up so angry

Avatar

my daughter fights me for every nap and bedtime. She absolutely hates sleeping and hates cat rides Bec she knows it will put her to sleep 🤦🏼‍♀️

Avatar

I hope it passes soon, nap times are when I speedrun getting all the chores done 😂

Avatar

Oh, interesting. He can play by himself for a while, BUT he can see me in the kitchen from his playpen so maybe that’s why haha

Avatar

yes! He wakes up whining and upset. Also, throughout the night he’s up every hour again, but he had a cold and is teething so I chalked it up to that 😬

Avatar

oh no!! Hopefully it passes soon! Mine isn’t fighting me to go to sleep (currently lol), just waking up super often and is upset when waking

Avatar

Mine wakes up at 45 mins if he’s overtired… that being said you could try shortening his wake window or it could just be a regression… hope it gets better soon!

Avatar

His wake window is the same as it was last week and he was doing 1.5hr each nap, easily! The sudden switch to short naps happened a few days ago 🤔 I’m thinking either regression or maybe even longer wake window?? It’s just ongoing change with these babies 😂

Avatar

uh yes, as soon as you think you have it figured out they switch it up on you… hope you can figure it out soon!

Avatar

Hopefully it’s one of those that passes in a week or so 😂🤞🏼

Avatar

Yeah mine too! I just lay down with him, otherwise its 15-30 mins.

Avatar

Same. Makes sense that separation anxiety pops up at this age. She usually slept up to 2 hours, and suddenly she wakes up 5-15 minutes after I sneak away 🥲

Avatar

just kidding I shouldn’t have said that…he just fought me for 45min for his second nap. I should know better than to say any part of his sleep is going well out loud 🤣

Avatar

so what you’re telling me is it hasn’t gotten any better yet 😂😭

Avatar

Yup! She used to nap pretty long and now is waking up after 45 minutes. I read it can be because they don’t know how to go into the deeper sleep cycle but 🤷🏻‍♀️ she sleeps well at night

Avatar

if I count correctly, it has been 6 days of that. It started with a skipped nap 😂 I'll let you know if she grows out of it 😁

Avatar

This is mine at night tooo. I get no sleep

Avatar

Mine did this for a couple weeks then one day he was so tired he had three naps and now he’s back to normal.

Avatar

They go through a sleep regression around this time. It’s probably the new normal for a few weeks until their sleep cycle settles again. They’ll also go through one at 12 months.

Avatar

And to piggy back off what you said in another comment, your baby’s wake windows might also be getting a little longer as well. My baby’s 9M regression lasted about a month and a half and it started right when she started crawling at 81/2M. She’s 10M now and I finally got her on a routine again like a week ago.

Avatar

At 10mo!? 😂 I thought they learned this during the 4mo regression!? Lol all I know is I know nothing at all about baby sleep and probably never will hahah

Avatar

Oh gosh…ok well I’m looking forward to a comment from you in a few days 😂😭 jk I know as soon as this phase ends, something else will happen haha

Avatar

I get so excited if he gives us 3hrs in a row in one night 🫠

Avatar

Amazing, I hope that happens for us too! (and everyone else in this comments section!!)

Avatar

Ok, so there’s some hope haha. Today I’m going to try waiting until 3.5hrs for his first wake window and see if it helps. He also is getting over a cold, so I’m sure that had an effect!

Avatar

He completely put himself to sleep for his first nap and slept for 1hr 15min, but fighting his second nap for 45 min again 😂 what is happpppeninnnng

Avatar

Update if anyone was wondering:

The short naps only lasted a few days and he actually now can put himself to sleep almost every time!? 😂 Babies are so confusing lol

shower infront of children

Is it weird to shower infront of your children, or your children see you naked?
At what age should this stop?

I’m just looking at what everyone’s thoughts are as I have a 7 month old and at the moment it’s hard for me to shower without him getting upset.

We contact nap atm, otherwise I'd shower when he sleeps!

It’s easier to bring his play mat into the bathroom whilst I shower so i can at least wash, else i have to wait for my husband to arrive home at 5/6pm.

Keen to see what people's opinions are and how other people do this!

GIRL DADS TAKING DAUGHTER TO BATHROOM IN PUBLIC

If a girl dad needs to take his daughter to the bathroom in public and there are no family bathrooms … I swear video online of a dad saying he uses the women’s bathroom but always knocks and announces ‘girl dad helping my daughter go to the bathroom’ and I love that idea and mens rooms are disgusting but wanted to see everyone’s thoughts

Ebf bottle refusal

I want to introduce a bottle so my partner and mum can feed baby every so often but she hates it! Have tried breast milk and formula and am using mam bottles. She also isn’t a fan of dummies. Goal is to give her formula as I hate pumping!

First time using Milton cold water sterliser…

When the 15 mins is up do you just take them out and put them straight back together?
I know it says you can leave them in the solution until use but I don’t want to do that as I have 8 bottles to sterilise and can only fit some at a time.
I have mam bottles but my microwave isn’t tall enough to fit the bigger ones in it to sterilise them🤣 didn’t have this issue with my son as previous microwave was taller🤣

Nursery settle sessions

Anyone started their settle in sessions? Was our second session today scheduled for two hours. Dropped my boy and returned after after 1 hour 45 minutes. The nursery worker, bless her, was rocking him to sleep. They said the baby was crying for 1.5 hours. Not gonna lie that worries me a lot! How are your little ones doing? Have they settled smoothly? FTM here and a very anxious one
