I was/am unsure on this but reading online I think it’s probably more beneficial than not to get this - any advice please?

thank you ☺️ I have already booked it but just wanted extra advice 🥰

Hey! I took this with my first pregnancy along with covid jabs, and I was so incredibly unwell with covid that I got hospitalised at 37 weeks pregnant. So to me, it didn’t make any difference at all whatsoever and didn’t protect me. I’ve never had the flu in my life at all. I’ve not taken it this time round as I have my own opinion on covid/flu jabs after my own experience. ☺️

I’ve had flu and Covid jabs now - all fine! Bit groggy with flu, and a sore arm with Covid, but I’m absolutely fine. For me, the benefits made my choice! Young, healthy, non pregnant people get hospitalised without protection! Let alone when pregnant xx

It's beneficial yes thats why it's advised during pregnancy. I have the flu jab every year due to asthma so I've already had mine this year x

I’ve never had the flu jab and I’m pregnant with my third. I’ve also never had any covid jabs. It’s your choice!

just I’ve heard it can make you I’ll unnecessarily and I didn’t want to put any risk to the baby x

Thanks everyone x x

this! This is my reason! Why put yourself through the illness when taking the jabs. It’s pointless. My kids bring home all types of illness and touch wood I seem to be the only one in my household that never gets it and deals with there illnesses.

I’ve been ill almost constantly since the start of august, one bug after another, so it was a no brainer for me. If I feel this rough with normal colds I didn’t want to take the chance with the flu!
I’ve also just had mine along with my whooping cough, feeling a bit tired and sore arms but still not as bad as I have been anyway 😅

Much safer to get the flu jab.

It won’t stop you getting flu but it’ll stop you getting so unwell from what I understand and protect baby

I’m a nurse and have it every year. It doesn’t make you ill you might get a little snuffle and a sore arm if that but the benefits of having it far out weigh the risks of not having it. I had mine last week with whooping cough and was totally fine been working all week plus 4 hours commuting a day so can’t be that bad🙂 x

Thanks everyone - I’ve just never had it before so I’m not sure how it all works but thanks for the advice! I’ve booked it for next week and seeing my midwife Friday so going to ask her too 😊

The only thing I would advise is if you are feeling unwell, delay having the jabs. I had my flu and whooping cough together a couple of weeks ago, I didn’t realise at the time but I had covid as well (a slight cough had started that morning). I ended up with such bad back pain I spent the night in A&E but in the end they think it was just a reaction to the jabs and being ill, my body just couldn’t handle it all lol

oh gosh! I’m sorry you felt rough with it! I’m feeling good at the moment and not unwell but I’ll take a covid test first to be sure 😊
