This is my 3rd pregnancy and I still feel like I know nothing about pregnancy. It's like with my 1st I was 41 weeks when my water finally broke and I was 1 cm dilated so the doctors had to boost my contractions with meds and I got the epidural but with my 2 I was 39 weeks pregnant having contractions so I called my midwife who thought I didn't sound like I was in pain but I have a high pain tolerance and ended up being 8cm dilated in active labor when I went to the birthing center. What I'm trying to get at is I wouldn't know a real contraction from a Braxton hicks contraction and I had to switch doctors because I felt like my doctor wasn't listening to me about anything and I feel like I really have no support. Does anyone else feel this way or is it just me?

Braxton hicks will normally resolve over a short period of time with water and raising your feet

Me too

Well I was just laying here thinking this.
I realized I was having contractions but I don’t really know if they are real haha idk how to explain it but I feel the same way you do.

Every time I go to my appointments my OB sends me to L&D because she doesn’t like the way my feet look and the contractions. The doctor on staff keeps me for an hour then sends me off and said to drink water. Call if it gets worse and when I do she just says drink water. So when I feel like my contractions are bad I just stay home. I guess I’ll go when my water breaks.

As someone w high pain tolerance I understand you… lol the only way i found out was the tight feeling coming n going so fast 5mins apart and i went in an i was in active labor …
