Visitors and vaccines

I think it’s safer to get those who will visit the baby within the first 6-8 weeks to have their whooping cough vaccine. Some people have already had it in the last 5-10 years, as the vaccine is combined with tetanus. My parents and siblings have already had it within the last 5 years because of my nephews, so we just asked my in laws to have it.

have you and your partner had yours? It’s not a nice thing to get and babies can get quite sick with it, so if your friends are going to be seeing baby quite early on; I would highly recommend it.

I got vaccinated for whooping cought during my pregnancy. Do you think that would help protect the baby or is it still recommended to have my parents vaccinated when they are visiting? The baby will be 5 weeks old when they come.

My hubby and i have agreed and enforced no vaccine no visit. My sister "cant afford" the vaccine to see her neice. (I say it like that because they have spent money on unnecessary stuff for bub and themselves and also a shitload on cigarettes but havent been able to afford $70 each since july.

We have stuck to our rules we set for baby since being born. We are her first call for safety and we arent willing to risk her health for people to see her and hold her that wont be there to help if and when she gets sick.

If you set rules when bubs born dont be scared to stick to them strictly.
