I’m not even sure how to start…. I have a heavy heart and have seen this split coming for months.
We currently live together but I cannot take this anymore. He is not asking for us to leave, in fact we have a spare bedroom and he is suggesting we live together for a while and we keep separate rooms. I don’t think I can do it. I do everything myself and splitting housework and childcare will be more chaotic while living like this. I rather move out. This house is part of his work, so yes, I have to be the one moving instead of him.
My LO is 14 months, due to start nursery in January. I am planning on going back to work at least part-time to start with and then increase from there. I know my ex partner (😭) is a very decent human being and an amazing father, he said he will pay for everything I need for the baby and requested I tried to find a place relatively close so he can see the baby more often the not and be able to take him out.
My question is, what sort of help can I get? I know he will pay for nursery but I don’t think I can cover rent, council tax, bills, food, etc myself. I’m at a loss….

You can apply for universal credit and council tax support on government websites. It will be extremely helpful whilst you get back on your feet

I was in a similar situation few years ago.
You will get more help than you realise.
First off apply for council housing and then you should be able to apply for housing benefit to help with rent aswell as universal credits/child tax credits what ever they call it now.
Please try not to get to stressed there is alot of help out there.
You should also be able to book an appointment with your local council that will help you and go through exactly what you would be entitled too.
