Hi all so I’m on the waiting list for speech therapy for my 2.5 year old boy. Has anyone been though it and was it helpful or successful?
Im so stressed any tips how to help my son to speak. He watches way too much Tv so really
Doesn’t help. He has also become so fussy with eating too.
He’s been assessed at Nursey as I had concerns over his speech and feeding but they had no issues just said he’s shy at first but then gets into groove and has built friendships with others now.
I feel like such a crap mum I hate comparing hate it. My partner always compares our son to others children like our friends kids who have siblings or simply just talking. What he forgets is our son can prob do things they can’t and every child is different.
I just get told I’ve got the blinkers on and need to teach him how to speak etc.
we both work but he’s always away for work and tbh I get so exhausted with eveythjng but try my best.
( sorry this turned up being a rant about my partner). I have no one I can speak
To about my sons speech etc my friends don’t seem to understand and keep saying he be ok etc .

omg how adorable and how lovely xx how many sessions did you need or have x

My son has his review on 15th Nov, nursery have sorted it sooner for us as he hadn't been saying any words or he was doing like saying Ayer but stopped. We had another baby in February and he had a bit of a regression so going back to saying gagagaa. Unfortunately I've let him have the TV on too much and up until about a month ago he had his dummy permanently in his mouth, we only let him have it for naps and bedtime now and he's now saying quite a few words but he will still go to speech therapy so I've been told x
