Best nighttime nappies

If you’re getting deja vu, yes I’ve asked a similar thing before…but which nappies are the most absorbent for nighttime?

We’ve been having a nightmare doing nappy changes on the night feed(s) and a few weeks ago experimented with not doing it, after advice on here. That was tricky as she leaked one night and I’m not sure if it was having a wet nappy that woke her on another. So a true case of damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

But now, the night nappy change has become such a problem - between all the nighttime layers and zero patience for waiting for milk (understandable), and a new trend of weeing up herself (and all her clothes and sleeping bag) the second the new nappy goes on, I’m thinking something needs to change.

So I’m thinking of avoiding nighttime nappy changes and find really comfy and absorbent nappies she can keep on all night as well. Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated (or solidarity!). Thank you

Im not sure what you have used already, my girl is in Aldi mamia nappies, she sleeps through and has nappy on before I put her down at night and gets it cha he's in the morning. The only time we had any night time leaks was when she was ready to size up but otherwise no problems with leaks and she doesn't wake up with it bothering her either

Reusables! Honestly are game changer! A good bamboo flat (my fave so far are evie reusables 70cm stretchy flats) with a cover over top and they last all night!
We do use some cotton terries boosted too or a baba and boo pocket with 3 inserts in it (2 flat and one folded at the front for nighttime) x

we’ve been having the same a good few nights in a row we normally have aldis but they’ve been rubbish lately. we got asdas as we were there and got the + size and they have worked a lot better we are on the 2nd night, but i am going to try aldis + size as that is where we normally shop

I was using aldi but when she was inbetween sizes. I hunted for another brand who had an in between size compared to her usual aldi size. I tried asda and pampers and they were worse for us. I got nappy boosters that works 90% of the time in an Aldi nappy but now the liner won’t fit as she’s bigger and the next size up is too big. I’ve just bought lidl nappies and trying with a booster. My LG needs 14 hours but now she is on bigger bottles we aren’t getting to 12 hours even!

Try sizing up in whatever brand you usually use or like, this helped us x

I had this issue, she would always leak in the night if I didn't change her. Now we use the pampers dry nights pants and they're honestly the best decision she doesn't leak. They get very full by the morning but she still feels dry. They're quite a lot more than Aldi etc which is what we use in the day but we just use one at night so well worth it to not change her. Morrisons currently have them on offer btw for £6 instead of £11. I've seen a lot of comments about sizing up which is worth a try but this didn't work for us unfortunately X

I used a mixture of Tesco and Aldi, but I always get the plus size, he’s currently in 4+ they are definitely more absorbent, no leaks! And I don’t change his nappy overnight x

Pampers bedtime pull ups are great! No leaks at all x

they do them from size 3 actually, I’ve just had a look. I’d have thought these were less fitted so might leak more than a regular nappy? X

I think it all depends on what size your LO is mine was brilliant in size 3 in the aldi nappies but now going up to size 4 it’s Morrison own brand nappies that work best and keep dry through the night. I have a little boy so as you can imagine weeing up was a problem so depending on size either aldi or Morrisons works best I have found

Avatar

No we’ve not found them to be less fitted, as long as you buy the right size. The elastic is really good so they are nice and snug. No leaks overnight and baby still feels dry even though nappy is saturated x

are Morrisons thinner than aldi? Ive found aldi the best and every other brand I try they are thinner. I’ve been using a nappy booster with aldi and it’s been great but she’s inbetween sizes so I’m back to washing bedding and sleeping bags etc daily.

I love aldi nappies but I just can’t get consistency without leaks now she’s inbetween sizes. I’ll try these! Thank you!

Thank you so much, everyone! I knew the Aldi ones were popular for this issue but unfortunately we tried them a while back and they gave her a rash. I’ve ordered the Pampers dry night ones to begin with as we’ve found Pampers quite good so far and if they fail I will start going through the above list!

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Breastfeeding

Does it ever feel better? The actual feeding part of it is going really well and baby boy is growing so well. I’m struggling with how my boobs feel day to day - it’s really getting me down most days. The let downs make me feel awful and sounds silly but, I am also really missing not wearing a bra! 9 weeks postpartum and still getting fairly engorged, even with comfort pumping.

Any advice or just shared stories would help. I’m so torn between carrying on because I enjoy the feeding side of it or switching to formula.

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?
