Hello mummas & mummas to be 🥰 I have had pethadine with both of my other children but wasn't aware of the risks 8 plus years ago. I used it due to long labours and needed to sleep for my body to dilate. My midwife has said that I could potentially use morphine if needed and it's risks arnt as bad as with pethadine. Has anyone used this before and have any success stories? I'm using hypno birthing techniques hopefully but would like a back up plan but not wanting epidurals or anything similar ideally as will be using MLBU 🤞I have also Jo experience with gas and air. thanks for you time ❤️

I only used gas and Air for my 2nd and active labour was under 2 hours . No complications to both me and baby 😊 I've heard people rave tens machine , I've not used it myself though. I used pethadine with first baby but I had gone to hospital early labour as waters broke first and used it alongside contractions , ended in emergency c section after 2 hours of pushing in active labour using gas and air as baby head had turned around

I was given morphine with my first and really didn’t like it, it made me very sick and out of it (according to my husband I kept spacing out during conversations for around 30 seconds and then carrying on without realising) and I’ve heard that it doesn’t provide stronger pain relief than gas and air - I’m sticking with that this time
