So I am 38 weeks pregnant and I am going in on Monday to have my waters broken and I am honestly freaking out about soon having my baby. I am so worried like is my house okay, do I have everything, do I know how to care for a baby. My partner is a fifo worker and he will be here for the birth then is going back to work because we need the money and I have family in town which I can also turn to but I also know that I am the worst person to ask for help cos I am terrified of feeling like a bad mum. I literally found myself googling and researching some of the simplest things like making a bottle or room temperatures I should have in my house cos I literally feel so unprepared right now and I am so worried I won’t be able to bond with my baby cos of how I am feeling.
Is this normal to feel ?

All is normal. I’ve been feeling the same but I just ask multiple people what did they do before birth and I also ask my doula and doctor questions 24/7.

First of all the fact you are worrying about checking things before baby is here proves you will be an amazing mum and that you care so much for your baby. It really is true when people say your mothers instinct will kick in. You will get to know your baby and your routine will soon fall into place. As for bottle making if your unsure reach out to your midwife they will give you any information you need. I don’t really think anyone can be fully prepared to become a first time mum as your learning in the process, will soon find your feet. As long as baby has warmth, a full tummy and lots of love thats all that matters ❤️ all the best of luck xxx

Completely normal feelings! My LO is 11 weeks old and I still find myself googling the simplest of things. Please please please don’t feel ashamed to ask for help, I felt the exact same and it led to me going into a deep state of PND. You’re not a bad mum for asking for help, it takes a lot to raise a baby and we’re not meant to do it alone!
It is extremely normal to have these thoughts as a ftm so don’t feel shame.
My partner works from home and we still need to ask for others help sometimes, parenting isn’t easy x

Not sure if you’re going natural or epidural but I highly recommend getting the epidural BEFORE they break your water, my doctor tried to break mine at 3cm and I knew better to advocate for myself based on other women letting me know how painful it was when they do it too early… I ended up being in early stages of labor for almost 30 hours and I can’t imagine that had I let him break my water. It broke on its own at 7cm and I was at 10cm within the hour, baby came out in a smooth 2 pushes. Wish you the best of luck. My baby is only 3 days old and you’ll be amazed at how your motherly instinct will kick in and just KNOW what to do. You’ll learn what’s best for you as you go! Blessings! ❤️❤️

Nothing wrong with googling! I googled a million things with my first

If you need any help or need to rant just message me. I was induced had my waters broken x
