I’m 10 weeks now. It honestly is feeling really isolating and idk why he keeps “waiting until the right moment” because we see them every weekend and i really want the support because tbh he’s not very supportive himself and like why not tell my own parents. Should I just up and tell them without him because I’m getting sick of it. I wanted to tell them last weekend but he said no. So then I was planning on telling them today but he says to wait until Halloween. 🙄 like at this point I have friends that know and not my parents it’s annoying.

Tell them. You are the one that is pregnant and if you want to celebrate with them and have support from them don’t let him stop you! I would just say that you will be telling them so it’s up to him if he would like to be a part of that
Well he ended up having to attend a funeral today but I said he was more than welcome to come join me afterwards at their house because I want to tell them asap and he was upset with me not being able to wait until Halloween. I’ve literally been waiting weeks to tell them but I guess what’s 3 more days 🙄

Why is Halloween so significant to him? Do you think he’s worried about telling them? I understand maybe waiting to tell his own parents but I think you should be able to tell yours how and when you want to

Have you asked him for an exact reason as to why he wants to wait so long? Maybe he is planning something special for the announcement, or wants to wait until you start your second trimester so that the risk of miscarriage is lower.
because he’s like we’ll be there on Halloween already why don’t we just tell them on Halloween? I don’t really care if he’s nervous it’s not like we can just never tell them. He was fine the first time we had a baby and announced it
neither of these are his reason lol. He keeps asking me “how” we are going to do it and I’m like I’m just going to tell them. And I’ve expressed that if I have a miscarriage I would want them to know and be supportive to me through it

I would I told my mum straight away didn’t ask there your parents it’s your choice love xx

I think maybe asking why he feels like it has to be a certain way. Letting him know how important it is to you should alone make him understand and accept you telling your parents. I did make the decision with my husband but if I felt the strong urge to tell my parents he would’ve understood.

My dad was the first person I told, even before my partner🤣I don’t know what I’d have done without his support during my first trimester. I’d tell your parents, it’s for you not for him. I’d understand if he wanted to choose when to tell his parents but not yours! x

Yeah exactly and I understand risk in first trimester but that’s your parents and you’ll need them should anything like that happen - can see people in comments mentioning this. I had an ectopic last year at only 6 weeks (a week after finding out) and I was soooo thankful i told my best friends and mine and my partners parents because they were our support system and I couldn’t have got through it without them. I mean Halloween is a couple days away now so not much difference but if he starts getting cold feet to tell them then, you should put your foot down and do it anyway x
