So how do you transition your babies out of swaddle sleep sacks? He ONLY sleeps well when he has one on. Otherwise he will fall asleep without it but only sleep for a minute or two before he hits himself in the face and wakes up. Also, he likes being tight in the swaddle.
Also, how old until you couldn’t use the sleep sacks anymore?

You can get ones with poppers for the arms and you can start with one arm in and one out and then gradually move to both arms out. They shouldn’t be swaddled once they’re rolling but can continue to use sleeping bags which are similar

We used sleep sacks until around 18 months or a bit later (but sleeveless ones). He couldn’t keep a normal blanket on him bc was moving too much. We stopped around when he moved to a toddler bed :)

We used the velcro swaddled for a while, switched to arms-in sleep sacks, then arms-out sleep sacks. As Sophie mentioned, you can get sleep sacks with slits for the arms to come out, the ones I had folded over kinda like the onsies with mitten sleeves.
I had to stop using sleep sacks by 11mo. LO climbed out of his crib while wearing one so we converted his crib into a toddler bed and started putting him in footie pj's.

You need to transition once the baby starts showing signs of rolling over or by around 3 months generally. That’s what I’ve done - getting one arm out at first. There have been a few nights where I resorted back to swaddling but even a bit of practice helps the baby get used to it, so I would get the arm out, then take a break for a night or two after disturbed sleep, then do it again - and suddenly when I got two arms out, she slept without any issues since. I was dreading it as she loved being swaddled but taking the time and giving myself breaks to ‘recover’ helped xx

We switched out of the swaddle sack when my LO started rolling over. We went to the zipadee zip sacks and my daughter still sleeps in it at 18 months and loves it. She can roll safely and will even walk in it in her crib now.

I loved the Merlin magic sleep suit to transition from the swaddle to the sleep sack

Love to dream swaddle’

There are some great transition sleep sacks that you can let them have one arm out at a time so they gradually get used to it.
For swaddling, you should stop swaddling as soon as they’re showing signs of rolling. After that they need to have their arms free.
Sleep sacks in general (not swaddle ones) you can use until they grow out of them (people often use them until 12 or 18 months

You can use them until he grows out of them. There are wearable blankets with the arms open.
