I’ve recently started weaning and…..
I HATE IT!
the pure anxiety I feel and I’m petrified of her choking I really am 😭😭
I know what to do if she was to choke but I can’t bare even the thought of it 😖
Any tips and advice

No advice but to say you’re not alone I’ve been so upset tonight as I’m worried I’m scaring my lo I think I need to take a break from blw and just stick with purées so she’s already having something I know grabbing the food out of her mouth is the wrong thing to do but i can’t stop myself

I only give her purées but today I tried giving her mash and my heart dropped and she gagged, she went red but was making noise! I hated it!
Next think I know my mum is suddenly trying to give her a tiny bit of cake! I was so so so extremely stressed

Does your Childrens centre do a weaning course? Mine did, it was only a single 2 hour (free) class, but proper helped to calm my nerves 😅

It’s so hard I hope someone has some advice

they do! They have a Henry starting solids class that I went to but it gave me more information but didn’t make me feel much better :/

It’s so scary weaning! Iv not done loads of BLW but stuff Iv given my LO is dissolvable- so like rusks and those carrot crisps and stuff. Gagging is totally normal though, they are learning. We mainly stick to purée and small chunks for now until I get more confident! They will get there :) it is so useful though to know what to do if choking happens x

I feel confident with purée as I know she’s ok with them! It’s just starting to introduce everything else 😭

Girl same!! HV told me not to pressure myself to BLW as it will all come in time, there’s absolutely no rush as long as we’re giving babies clumpy purée for them to learn how to chew and then try BLW out when we’re most comfortable 💖 also the Ella’s kitchens melty sticks are a good start there’s no way they’ll choke as they turn into mush xx

thank you so much!
