Elective C section due to anxiety

Hi, not exactly the same circumstances but I am having an elective due to trauma (not birth related but sexual and made me fearful of certain aspects of labour) and I have not had to fight at all. The midwives I have had so far have supported it, the MH team have and my consultant has (have consultant Cs of a blood disorder). No one has tried to change my mind or even suggest it would be a problem. I'd suggest doing your own reading on the pros and cons to be sure it is what you want but they will definitely listen to a valid reason 😊

I did with my son and am doing the same in this pregnancy. I have really bad anxiety and had 3 miscarriages before my son so was so anxious about giving birth and just wanted him safely, so elected for a c section, the doctors were understanding but did try to talk me round to having him naturally, but once I said how I felt then they were happy for me to have the c section x with my current pregnancy when asked in the beginning I said due to anxiety I would like another c section and they have not question it so far, hope that helps xxx

Hi ya, I was really anxious all through my first pregnancy and ended up having to have an emergency Caesarian, but I wish I had just had the guts to say I wanted an elective in the first place.
2nd time around , I’ve asked for an elective Caesarian and there has been no resistance from the hospital etc but I would kick off if there was. Like, do what you need to do, it’s no one else’s bloody business. 🤷🏻‍♀️
