For a while now I've been struggling to sleep and when I do finally fall asleep I'm finding sleeping on my side uncomfortable....I feel like I'm lying on the baby 😅 it's a strange feeling. Laying on my back is so much more comfortable!
I end up on my back quite a few times in the night, my partner luckily keeps an eye on me and if he catches me on my back he turns me over to my side.
Is it really that bad to sleep on my back? I'm worried about it but I can't help doing it when I'm asleep and I wake up panicking.

I sleep on my back with loads of pillows behind so I’m not laying flat.
Sometimes it’s the only way I can doze off for an hour xx

I think as long as you have your partner keeping an eye on you it's fine. My midwife said I'll feel very dizzy if something starts to happen and people usually wake themselves up anyway :)

The reason they say not to sleep on your back is because your main artery to your heart is there and the weight if the baby on it stops the blood flow which in turn stops blood flow and oxygen getting to baby..it can cause stillborn and other complications.. if you prop yourself with pillows under one side you will be fine its just laying flat on your back x

You will feel dizzy/ tingles in your legs as your bloody circulation will be getting cut off. I’ve been propping myself up one on side with pillows so i’m not completely flat
