Feeling low in mood

I feel really teary. I am worried I am more likely to get postpartum depression with how low mood I have been in pregnancy.

I am grateful that I am pregnant and having a child. Baby was planned. I have had a relatively easy pregnancy with all the symptoms etc. but my environment around me has been very difficult at times during pregnancy. This has massively impacted my mood. I woke up today feeling really low in how I look. I don’t feel very confident at all. Also trying to hide how I feel to certain family members who brag at how they feel and how their body was perfect during pregnancy etc.

I feel worried I will only be worse postpartum and don’t want this to affect my baby. I’m scared.

It's worth having a word with your midwife as they usually have dedicated mental health staff on call. You don't have to go through this alone ❤️

I hope you feel better! I’ve had a few of those days too. It’s our hormones! You may not be worse at postpartum, my SIL just had a baby and she was not emotional in her pregnancy but now is it’s different for everyone but hopefully we will be fine. Tell your friends/close family how you feel they can usually be helpful. You are probably exhausted and stressed which is not helping! I’ve been keeping my mind busy which is helping. If you need anyone to talk to drop me a message x

thank you, I might have to if I feel the same. I am scared though.

thank you. Everytime I talk to my family they make it about them so I rather not talk to them as they offer no support/advice but just like to compare how they are doing so great and how perfect their life is. So I feel very alone and isolated in these feelings.

When I had issues with my partner I spoke to them for support and my sister could not stop talking at how perfect her relationship is.

I have had so much going on around me during pregnancy and it’s all taking it’s toll I am sure. Along with the hormones which I don’t think them. The body changes just upset me today. Feeling worried for the future etc.

I do feel people do make it about themself. I told one of my pregnant family members i’ve got pain etc and she was like oh trust me that’s nothing imagine being me!! Like what! How do you know how bad my pain is and i’m sorry you are feeling that way but that doesn’t make my pain any less or unimportant. Unfortunately, we’ll have people like that around us and I know it will play in your mind😭 maybe try speaking to your midwife?

I find having a good night sleep helps😄 sometimes its just tiredness, otherwise speak to your midwife and she will put you in touch with a therapist if ahe thinks it’s necessary

I find I sleep really well. I have no complaints on sleep. Like I said pregnancy wise its felt really easy for me compared to others. It’s not really affecting me that much it’s just everything else around me. The only thing pregnancy wise affecting me is emotionally adapting to how I feel with my body.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?
