Confusing scan measurements..

Hiya, we had a 20+0 scan on the 26th October and baby was measuring all within normal range but was diagnosed with talipes, meaning a follow up appt with fetal medicine.

Fetal Medicine appt was exactly one week later at 21+0 (3rd Nov) all fine, just confirmed talipes which isn’t anything to be too concerned over. However, after leaving and looking at my notes, I realised baby has only gained 8 grams in a week.. individual measurements are very confusing, some are bigger and some are smaller than the scan the week previous?? Out of curiosity, before even having seen this in my notes, I’d checked with the sonographer that growth was all normal and she confirmed baby was “perfectly average”.

Can anyone offer any reassurance? Both scans were suboptimal view due to very wriggly and uncooperative baby so could that have been the cause for inconsistent measurements? She’s moving like mad so I know she is okay in there but just concerned over the measurements..

It’s very difficult to get accurate measurements from an ultrasound. I’ve mentioned in other posts before but at 39 weeks last time they said baby was measuring 8lb11 and he was born 3 days later at 7lb5. They judged on length and abdominal measurements and lots of people at the time saying similar about scan measurements being way off.
If they are saying everything is normal then try not to worry, they would let you know if they had any concerns.

thank you, I’m hoping that’s the case! Especially with her wriggling around, it must be hard to get a measurement spot on. Hearing “perfectly average” never sounded so good! This is our first baby after two loses so just very anxious so far x

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
