So basically I have a friend due a little boy in February, of course we will buy the baby something but after I gave birth I felt like no one thought about us as parents and all presents were for baby boy, I don’t mean to sound ungrateful because I’m not at all and loved all gifts but we had just bought loads 🙈.
Now like I said, we will buy baby boy something but what things do you think you could of done with as parents after your little one was born?
My mind has gone blank and all I can think of is like a voucher for Just Eat/Uber or something like that for a day they can’t be bothered to cook but of course need to eat.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank youuu 🫶🏻🩵

Yes!! This is so thoughtful of you! Anything food related would be great I reckon. I kept wanting a box of chocolates personally! But meals or a voucher for a takeaway would have been absolutely delightful and really helpful! Finding the time to cook is not easy with a newborn so I think the voucher idea is perfect x
Yeah we had more days where we couldn’t be bothered to make a meal at the end of the day than days we could be bothered so ended up like snacking if starving rather than eating meals 🤣
I just feel no one is thinking of the parents when a new baby is born which I understand it is a new life and everyone is excited but we were just constantly bombarded with baby things and nothing for us 🙈
So chocolates and vouchers! And maybe a bottle of Prosecco for mamma! 😋🤣

My friend sent us a week's supply of dinners from Cook which was so appreciated! And my mum cooked a lasagne and froze it in portions. Food is definitely a good idea! Another friend has offered an evening of baby sitting in the future.
Will definitely have a look at Cook as I’ve not heard of that! Thank you!
I’d love to cook and freeze meals for them but there’s a bit of a distance issue as I live in Newcastle and they live near Leeds 🙈🤣
Thank you ladies! 🤍

A session or two for house cleaner!!
Ohhh I might put together a little hamper! I think she plans to breast feed and my midwife said plenty oats so plenty biscuits! 😅 thank you! X

My friends sent us gormet cupcakes and brownies. We had already sorted food out but having something nice to snack on was great

I got given some frida mom ice packs, ton of maternity pads lol and some more wintery maternity/nursing clothes which I actually ended up wearing a lot postpartum as I only needed summer clothes for bump during the actual pregnancy
A donut cushion or feeding pillow is also great. I got given a feeding pillow.
Breastfeeding tea. Big drinking flask with a straw. Long charging cable for feeds
Agree food or über vouchers are ideal. Probably berocca too!

Rather than just eat, what about an order from a microwave meal company? Someone had ParsleyBox delivered to my house which was shelf stable ready meals and let me tell you, they were an absolute godsend!! Cottage pie, lasagne, pasta ect, they weren't amazing but the were brilliant and honestly my favourite gift. Both times I've also been bough bath stuff, tummy scrubs and butters ect and never used them either time because who has time for that with a new born 🤣
I actually have a ton of maternity pads/breast pads/breast milk bags and other breast feeding bits ready for her 🙈 my breast feeding journey didn’t go to plan and my mother in law went crazy on the maternity pads when I asked her to grab me one pack 🤣 x

Food vouchers! Or there is a company called COOK which make ready meals from scratch so aren't processed, they do a new parent box. I would've LOVED this for the first couple days(nearly 2 weeks pp now). We had friends get us a box of chocolates each, and my oldest has been milking the presents massively as no one has wanted her to be left our if baby got a present 🤣🙈 or even a special bottle of booze. My oldest I found a gin that had her name and that was the first drink I had after giving birth. I've kept the tag it had as a keep sake but 3.5 years on I still have a bit left at the end of the bottle 🤣
